Oto Başar was founded in 1969 by Yılmaz Kilercioğlu in a space of just 13 m², selling spare parts for BMC, Ford, Morris, Austin and Leyland trucks and tractors.

Today we supply spare parts, maintenance, repair and consultancy for BMC, Cummins and many other brands, from a 3,330 m² facility in Istanbul where parts, workshop and service sit under one roof.

Our Story

From 13 m² to 3,330 m²

The milestones of more than five decades in spare parts, service and engines.

  1. 1969

    The beginning

    Founded by Yılmaz Kilercioğlu in 13 m² as a spare parts seller for BMC, Ford, Morris, Austin and Leyland.

  2. 1982

    Oto Başar A.Ş.

    The company becomes Oto Başar A.Ş.

  3. 1990

    Service operations

    Service activities start alongside parts sales.

  4. 1994

    BMC authorized service

    Başar Otomotiv Ltd. Şti. is established as a BMC authorized service.

  5. 1999

    One roof

    All branches move into the current 3,330 m² facility for BMC and Cummins parts, maintenance and repair.

  6. Today

    Eleven brands

    Parts and service for BMC, Cummins, KMP Brand, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hyundai, Perkins, Ford CNH, Detroit Diesel, John Deere and Kawasaki KCM.
